I just wanted to get the buzz out a few days early in the hope that people will visit the new site and view his superb, one of a kind, handcrafted wood designs. Wally is based in Franklin, New York in the Catskills and is one cool cat!
Wally is also a very, very talented photographer; and frankly without his incredible pictures, the website would not look nearly as good as we think it does.
So, here is a little content from the new website and we will post an update when the site is launched!
I design and make food cutting and serving boards using the finest hardwoods harvested locally in upstate New York.
Trees are, without a doubt, the most precious of all our natural and renewable resources. My passion for this belief revisits me daily. Trees generously serve our needs, and so it seems only fitting that as a craftsman I try and return the favor.
My approach to woodwork is simple: each piece of wood is unique, and working in the medium is a personal exchange that continues to reward me.
There is no substitute for wood. And machine technology, no matter how advanced, cannot replace that human quality we call craftsmanship. There are thousands of hybrid variations of figure and pattern for which machines show no appreciation. By hand selecting each piece of wood, I take advantage of nature’s designs and feature these beautiful patterns in the finished product.
These boards look lovely, whether hanging in the kitchen or laid out on the dining table. They make a great gift for someone special, or a treat for your own household.
